Dryden’s Cara Prusakiewicz Commits to Indiana Tech


Dryden’s Cara Prusakiewicz has committed to Indiana Tech to further her athletic and academic career. Cara will be running cross country and track for the Warriors.


While a student-athlete at Dryden, Prusakiewicz competed at the varsity level all four years of high school, along with running indoor track, and served as her cross country team captain. She has a personal best of 19:36 for the 5K (a school record) and was a Division 4 All-State athlete in cross country last fall.


Prusakiewicz has a long list of academic and athletic accolades: 

  • Leadership & Activities: Student Council member and President, National Honor Society member and Vice President, National Junior Honor Society member, The Dryden Red and Black newspaper staff member and Editor, Yearbook staff member, Fellowship of Christian Athletes member and Huddle Leader.

  • Academic Awards: “A” Honor Roll; Scholar-Athlete Award, MHSAA Academic All-State, Student of the Month for Integrity, College Board Rural and Small-Town Recognition Award, and College Board School Recognition Award.

  • Athletic Honors

    • Freshman Year — Cross Country: All-Region, 2nd Team All-League; Track: 1600m and 3200m, 2nd Team All-League.

    • Sophomore Year — Cross Country: All-State, All-Region, 1st Team All-League, Individual Regional Champion; Track: 1600m and 3200m, 2nd Team All-League. 

    • Junior Year — Cross Country: All-State, All-Region, Individual Regional Champion, 1st Team All-League; Track: 1600m and 3200m, 1st Team All-League, NCTL 1st Team (1600m and 3200m), 4x800 Relay NCTL 1st Team, State Qualifying. 

    • Senior Year — Cross Country: All-State, All-Region, 1st Team All-League, School Recorder Holder.

 

Prusakiewicz says she’s interested in studying engineering and chose Indiana Tech because, “It felt like the perfect fit both academically and athletically. I loved the campus and its location, and I could truly see myself thriving there. The cross country and track program has a strong, supportive team culture, and the coach made it clear that he genuinely cares about his athletes and their development on and off the course. From the first visit, Indiana Tech felt like home, and I’m excited for what’s ahead."
