Local Athletes Compete During Summer in National Events; Dykstra Named Nike National All-American

From June through early August, local athletes continued competing in track and field meets, honing their skills in various events and matching up with others from across the state and country.
The first major national competition of the summer season was New Balance Nationals, which took place from June 19-22 at Franklin Field on the University of Pennsylvania’s campus. North Branch’s Eli Bickel and Anchor Bay’s Cameron Gramzow finally met in the same event for the first time all season, as they are not in the same league or division. Bickel threw a new personal best of 186-1 to place ninth, while Gramzow also had a new PR of 176-10 to finish 19th.
