Week 6 Cross Country Recap
Langolf, Nivala Win MCCAA East Runner of the Year Honors; MCC Sweeps Championship Titles
With a big week for our local community colleges, more high school league matchups and local invitationals, the weather cooled down, but the performances heated up as we head into the last full month of cross country racing for the Blue Water Area.
Athletes of the Week
After stating in a podcast episode last week that her goal was to break sub-20 this season, New Haven’s Emma Reimer dropped another 30-second PR to run 19:57, winning her second MAC Blue Jamboree on Tuesday, Sept. 29. She then turned around two days later and won the Marysville Invitational on Oct. 1.
Caleb McBride ran his 2026 season opener faster than his freshman PR last year and has steadily dropped time to consistently stay sub-17, with a PB of 16:39. As a sophomore, he’s one of the fastest underclassmen in our area, finishing second at the Marysville Invitational, and is currently the number-one runner for the Vikings, helping them win the team title on Thursday on their home course.
